Job Description
The Red Hat Sales Cloud team is looking for a Principal Salesforce Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work as a member of a highly dynamic and collaborative technical team. The team is tasked with design, development, and functional support for the Red Hat Sales Cloud (Salesforce Sales Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud). You will implement and execute strategy to help Salesforce engineers deliver high-quality products and build a quality-first culture within the development team. You will collaborate closely with Business Systems Analysts, Enterprise architects, and testing and support teams to execute and deliver solutions and tools in alignment with the org vision and strategy.
What You Will Do?
- Work closely with business systems analysts, architects, product owners, and quality engineers as part of a mature agile team to design, build, and deliver solutions
- Develop custom solutions on the Force.com platform, including work in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, LWC, and application integration patterns
- Use knowledge of tools and best practices for the development and deployment of enterprise applications, including source code management (VCS), code review, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), Salesforce DX, scratch org, and unit testing
- Employ your experience in RESTful and SOAP web services, including Salesforce APIs, in support of our SFDC integrations with other third-party applications and enterprise systems
- Develop accurate estimates on the level of effort for the timely realization of projects
- Perform tasks as necessary to roll out product and support design, quality assurance (QA), and implementation teams
- Review, maintain, and assure quality in all code entering our codebase
- Continually evaluate and refactor our existing codebase for increased extensibility
- Identify system gaps and propose, design, and build solutions
- Debug and work with complex implementations involving features like asynchronous processing on SFDC
What You Will Bring?
- 5+ years of SFDC experience
- Experience with declarative SFDC development (workflows, approval processes, and validation rules) and programmatic SFDC development (Apex Classes, Apex Triggers, and Visualforce Pages)
- Experience with JQuery or other JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS
- Lead the design, development, documentation, testing, monitoring, maintenance, and operation of software solutions with a focus on varied and non-routine complex issues.
- Apply expert judgment to work on multiple projects and resolve complex technical issues using innovative solutions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Coordinate activities of other team members, and potentially across teams, to ensure project goals are met.
- Lead the adoption of best practices, patterns, and frameworks across the engineering team.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase development efficiency and software quality.
- Experience with CI and CD tools like Git, VS Code, SonarQube, and the release process
- Solid knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Proficiency in programming using Apex, JavaScript, and HTML along with VisualForce and LWC
- Deep understanding of the overall SFDC ecosystem
- Solid problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills to set up and interpret logic, data tables, and rule relationships
