Wood is currently recruiting for Principal Engineer - Offshore (Piping) with 10+ years of experience in Piping Engineering in Oil & Gas project execution in oil and gas, petrochemical industry.
This role will be based out of our Chennai office.
The Role
The Principal Engineer will apply extensive and comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the organization’s products and services.
This opportunity is ideal for an individual who has previous experience within Offshore Piping Engineering and wants to be part of a dynamic project team working as part of an international service line.

The key objectives for this role are:
Completes technical design work to a high standard in line with Project requirements in following
domain:
- Experienced in Offshore Green field projects (Topsides for Well head, LQ, Riser Platform & Process platforms) as Lead or Area Lead
- Experienced in Brown field modifications including installation feasibility and schemes. Tie-ins/Hook-ups and prepare Site survey input.
- Review piping studies for defining elevation & configuration for Fixed platforms & interface definition / Hook ups.
- Experienced in FPSO/FLNG topsides modules.
- Knowledge in preparation of piping materials deliverables (Wall Thickness Calculations, Piping Material Specifications, Valve material specifications, data sheets for (pipes, fittings, flanges, valves and specialty items).
- Able to lead a team of 6 – 12 team members

Expected:
- Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in Piping Engineering in Oil & Gas project execution (Essential).
- Working experience major industrial & international codes (ASME, API & NORSOK)
