Job Description

For over 20 years, Globaledit has been the secret weapon for the world’s leading global brands, providing a powerful SaaS platform that optimizes and accelerates creative production. Based in New York City, we pair the rock-solid stability of an established market leader with the fast-paced innovation of a modern, cloud-native tech stack. As we scale our platform and venture into exciting new domains like AI/ML, we are looking for a visionary technical leader to help shape the future of creative workflow technology.

The Role: Impact & Ownership

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Engineer to lead the architecture, performance, and codebase for our growing Digital Asset Management Platform. In this role, you won’t just sit in ivory-tower meetings—you will actively build, influence, and innovate. You will own the technical roadmap, mentor a global engineering team, and act as the critical bridge between complex business requirements and elegant, scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Technical Vision: Lead the long-term technical vision, architecture, and development roadmap for our core Digital Asset Management Platform.
  • Hands-on Architecture: Remain close to the metal by contributing directly to the codebase through the design and development of complex, high-impact features.
  • System Excellence: Take full ownership of system performance, reliability, and security, proactively identifying bottlenecks and optimizing infrastructure.
  • Global Mentorship: Guide and mentor a talented team of offshore engineers, fostering a culture of high-quality code, efficient processes, and continuous growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical realities.
  • Evangelize Best Practices: Champion elite software engineering standards, clean coding practices, and modern DevOps methodologies across the broader engineering organization.

Requirements

  • SaaS Expertise 10+ years of experience building production-grade SaaS platforms, including 3+ years operating as a Tech Lead or Principal Engineer owning outcomes across multiple engineers.
  • Backend Mastery Expert-level proficiency in C# .NET, ASP.NET, and XUnit.
  • Cloud-Native Architecture 4+ years of deep, hands-on experience leveraging the AWS ecosystem—specifically API Gateway, EC2, Cognito, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, and DynamoDB.
  • Frontend Literacy A strong enough understanding of React and TypeScript patterns to confidently review PRs and architect clean, seamless interfaces.
  • Leadership & Communication Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven track record of managing cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • Education A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (an advanced degree is a plus!).

Our Stack & Emerging Tech

While your core toolkit will be focused on C# and AWS, you will also get to work with and influence:

Category Technologies & Initiatives

Data & Caching: Postgres, Redis

DevOps & Tooling: Docker, Azure DevOps, PowerShell

Future Innovation: Leading, learning, and coaching teams through upcoming AI/ML projects
