About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer.

In this role, you will:

• Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
• Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
• Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
• Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
• Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• 6+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 6+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology
• 6+ years of experience with technology such as Java, Angular, .NET, SQL Server, Python, Gen AI and Big Data
• 5+ years of experience managing SaaS applications
• 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWA, Azure, GCP)
• 2+ years of experience leading Generative AI or "Classical" AI initiatives

Job Expectations:

• Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a synergetic attitude
• Ability to develop and deliver effective, well-articulated, written, and oral communications (e.g., emails, presentation materials) applying appropriate level of content/ detail dependent upon audience and intent
• Experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen
• Experience in Modeling, Gen AI implementations across CAO or COO domains (Supply Chain, Corporate Security, Resiliency, Operations, Risk) and implementation of technology solutions in one of the areas
• Excellent communications, interpersonal, and presentations skills across technical and non-technical groups
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on proactive solutions
• Experience with Agile transformations Experience with Gen AI/Traditional AI stack including Python, Spark, Large Language Models Experience with Agentic AI frameworks or similar
• Experience in creating & delivering technology roadmap
