There’s never been a better time to be in energy. And there’s never been a more exciting time to be at Endeavour Energy.
More than 2.7 million people across New South Wales rely on us every day for the supply of safe and reliable power to their homes and businesses. We employ more than 1,700 people across our catchment, making us one of the largest employers in Sydney’s Greater West.
We need talented people who are ready for challenge and growth and value a sense of care and belonging. Our vision is to lead the way with smarter energy solutions. Play your part in helping us put the customer first and transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for us all.
As Principal Engineer – Future Energy Planning, you’ll provide principal-level technical leadership across network planning, helping shape robust, consistent and defensible planning practices across Endeavour Energy’s network.
You’ll lead and review complex planning and connection assessments associated with the rapidly changing energy landscape, including distributed energy resources (DER), electrification, batteries, EV charging, data centres, large customer loads and emerging network constraints.
As a senior technical authority, you’ll combine deep engineering expertise with strong judgement, mentoring and influence. You’ll provide technical direction to engineers, lead peer reviews and translate complex analysis into clear recommendations that support confident decision-making.
You’re an experienced electrical engineer with significant expertise in distribution network planning and the technical judgement to lead complex engineering investigations.
You’re comfortable operating as a technical leader without relying on direct line authority, bringing people together around sound engineering practices while constructively challenging assumptions and improving the quality of planning outcomes.
This is an opportunity to have meaningful technical influence over how Endeavour Energy plans for a changing electricity system.
You’ll work at the intersection of traditional network planning and the energy transition, helping address increasingly complex impacts from DER, batteries, EVs, electrification, data centres and major new loads.
You’ll also have the opportunity to shape engineering practices, mentor other engineers and uplift capability across the team while remaining deeply involved in challenging technical work.
If you’re looking for a principal-level opportunity where your engineering judgement, technical leadership and ability to influence can have a genuine impact on the future of the network, we’d like to hear from you.

At Endeavour Energy, having a diverse and inclusive workplace makes us better, safer, and stronger. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels safe, motivated, valued, included and respected.
Endeavour Energy is a critical infrastructure organisation and performs various background checks to evaluate the suitability of an applicant before making an employment offer to ensure the security and protection of its assets.

Endeavour Energy is a safety focused and customer-centred business determined to be the best performing network in Australia.
Our people take great pride in being of service to our communities by efficiently distributing electricity to our customers in a way that is safe, reliable and sustainable.
We manage a $6.2 billion electricity distribution network serving more than a million connected customers, or 2.4 million people, living and working across 24,800 square kilometres in Sydney’s Greater West, the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands, Illawarra and the South Coast of NSW.
Our network powers Australia’s third largest economy, and includes Sydney’s North West and South West Priority Growth Centres, established in 2005 to house 500,000 new residents over 30 years in suburbs similar in size to Wollongong and Canberra.
The region is also home to Sydney’s proposed second airport.
We’re owned by an Australian-led consortium of institutional investors with world class experience in investing and managing regulated utilities across the globe.
The consortium has a clear objective to create long-term value by efficiently investing in Endeavour Energy’s assets to improve safety and customer outcomes.
The consortium acquired 50.4% ownership of the rights to manage Endeavour Energy’s network assets under a 99 year lease in June 2017. It’s led by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), and includes AMP Capital, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation and Qatar Investment Authority.
The NSW Government retains a 49.6% interest and continues to licence safety and reliability.
