TheAutomotiveSystems and Solutions Technology Teamis at the forefront of developing technologies for nextgenerationautomotive products.We haveidentifiedthe need for a highly motivated Communications PHY Systems Architecttomodelwirelinephysical layerlinkstargeted for in-vehicle communicationsand toarchitectDSP functions ofthosereceivers andtransmittersforrobust andpractical implementationAs a member of the Systems team, you will help develop the architecture of the nextgenerationproprietary and standards-based video and data solutions. In this challenging role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety oftechnologyareas and applications.

The Role

  • Modeling of vehiclewirelinecommunications linksand networks,with emphasis on signal integrity.

  • Modelreceiver andtransmitterarchitectures,includingequalizers, echo cancellers, clock and datarecoveryandotherprocessing blocksand algorithmsrequiredto deliver a robustlink

  • Define a DSParchitecture for those processing blocksand algorithms thatispractical and efficient to implement

  • Collaborate with digital and firmware engineers to implement those functions.

  • Guidedefinition and system-level testing of proof-of-concept wired communication modules.

  • Collaborate withand guidethe systems and evaluation teams to characterize performance and solve customer issues.

  • Support ADI standards engagementby participatingin, andmaking technical contributions to standards-developmentorganizationse.g.modelingto provide task group collateral or verify materialssubmittedby others.

Requirements

  • MinimumBS in Electrical or Computer Engineeringand8+ yearsrelevantexperience; MSEE or MSCE and5+ years of experience preferred.

  • Experiencewith SERDESsystem concepts (Equalization, CDR, Noise sources, etc.).

  • System modeling experience inMatlabSimulinkor similar platforms.

  • Strong background in digital signal processing.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to understand and clearly articulate technical issues to peers, management and customers and solve problems cross-functionally.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with teams spread geographically.

  • Understanding ofelectromagnetic theory related to transmission lines and PCB.

  • Self-motivated.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with EMI / EMC compliance standards and testing.

  • Experience with SERDEShardwaretesting and evaluation.

  • Knowledge ofwirelinecommunications standards,including Ethernet, and/or wireless standards

  • Analog/mixed-signaldesign experience.
