Wood is currently recruiting for Principal Engineer - Rotating and Package Equipment with 10+ years of experience in Equipment Engineering Environment with lead

role in project execution in oil and gas, petrochemical industry.

This role will be based out of our Chennai office.

The Role

The Principal Engineer will apply extensive and comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the organization’s products and services.

This opportunity is ideal for an individual who has previous experience within R&P Equipment and wants to be part of a dynamic project team working as part of an international service line.

The key objectives for this role are:

Completes technical design work to a high standard in line with Client and Project requirements in the

following areas:

  • Able to perform as a lead engineer in FEED / EPC projects
  • Prepare project specifications / standards
  • Ability to carry out / review pump, compressor and mechanical seal selection
  • Produce & review mechanical data sheet for Rotating & Package equipment.
  • Produce & review requisition for Rotating & Package equipment.
  • Prepare & review technical bid analysis for Rotating & Package equipment.
  • Review supplier documents for Rotating & Package equipment
  • Ability to chair & coordinate meetings with suppliers Coordinates with other disciplines as and when required.
  • Participate in Model Reviews and other design reviews as and when required.
  • Conduct Performance Reviews for the team.
  • Able to perform technical audits on projects

Expected:

  • Graduate in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
  • Postgraduate in Engineering (Desirable)
  • Membership in Professional Organisations (Desirable)
  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in Equipment Engineering Environment with lead role in project execution (Essential).
  • Experience in offshore projects (Essential).
  • Ability to lead medium sized teams in a multi-discipline task force-based engineering environment (Essential)
  • Proven expertise in FEED and EPC Engineering execution including Field Engineering in Project execution (Desirable).
