Job Description

Roles:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the analysis, study, and resolution of relatively complex technical problems that may involve multiple scientific disciplines.
  • Guarantee at ITO stage the technical solutions proposed by TT
  • Maintain and formalize the company’s technological know-how and act as a driver for proposing new solutions.
  • Identify employees capable of sustaining the competitiveness of the company’s technical solutions and participate in their development.
  • Design products for complex projects and prevent associated risks (e.g., projects requiring a departure from "standard" design, or where the validity assumptions of "standard" models and designs are no longer applicable).
  • Validate designs created by other engineers.
  • Participate in resolving technical problems encountered by products during commissioning or operation at customer sites.
  • Participate in meetings with customers (during contract execution or offer phases) regarding technical aspects.
  • Propose improvements to existing methods to increase the competitiveness of the company's technical solutions.
  • Transcribe and disseminate know-how and lessons learned within their specific field of expertise.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers in their technical development.
  • Participate in technological monitoring (R&D watch) within their field of competence.

Responsibilities

  • No direct hierarchical management responsibilities.
  • For design tasks, the Principal Engineer's involvement mostly consists of providing support to technical teams during the design phase and validating technical reviews.
  • Participate in the work of a team—potentially multidisciplinary—formed to solve a specific technical problem or to define new methodologies.
  • From a technical standpoint, work performed directly by the Principal Engineer is validated, when deemed necessary, by the Consulting Engineer of the relevant discipline(s).

Required Qualifications

  • ·Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physics
  • ·Fluent in English and at least one other language
  • ·At least 10 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Leadership to pursue correct engineering process in adverse conditions
  • Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Considered an expert in electrical design of electrical machines
