Expectations of the Role:

As a member of the Proactive team, the candidate will be responsible for the review of engine trend anomalies and identify deterioration symptoms. The candidate will then validate engine heath degradation and communicate maintenance recommendations. The candidate will also drive improvement to the service offering from high level business needs to a production grade detection service.

As a team lead, the candidate will drive the continuous improvement effort across the team by managing projects and driving tasks and behaviors. The candidate will implement lessons learnt and best practices on all Proactive programs, will ensure documentation of the processes, will contribute to team member training and mentorship from a technical point of view. The candidate is expected to take a leadership role in both technical projects and team governance. The candidate will be an ambassador of the Proactive group inside and outside DES and will contribute to the development of the Proactive service vision, and its application across Engine Programs. The candidate will work in close collaboration with other team lead.

The candidate has hand-on experience with data manipulation and leveraging large data sets to reach a technical or business decision.

The candidate has advanced engine knowledge and excellent understanding of the engine performance health trending on several P&WC engine families.

The individual must have good communication skills and must be comfortable presenting to various stakeholders. The candidate has experience making acceptable compromises. The candidate must be comfortable in a fast pace, volatile environment and know how to navigate gray zone.

What You Will Do:

  • Monitor the trends of engine performance and operability health, for selected engines models.
  • Recommend engine maintenance actions to end customers
  • Communicate recommended action to internal and external customers
  • Identify and drive improvements to detection tools, processes and services. Drive adoption within the team
  • Lead investigations using large data sets. Challenge results
  • Support team members from a technical point of view on all Engine families
  • Ensure process and training improvement. Ensure process monitoring and correction when required.
  • Conduct tasks related to department ‘s governance

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor or Master’s in engineering, aerospace specialization or equivalent with minimum of 8-12 years of experience
  • Advance understanding of turbomachinery, especially P&WC engine families
  • Excellent understanding of trend monitoring practices with hands on experience
  • Demonstrated usage of data analysis and data visualisation tools, such as Excel, Python or PowerBI
  • Customer interface experience and front-line support
  • Ability to delegate tasks and own deliverable quality
  • Ability to priorities tasks and optimize team’s outcome
  • Quality mindset to continuously drive process improvement
  • Experience in presenting technical topics to wide range of audiences, leadership attitude.

Shifts/Work Hours:

UK Shift: 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM

On-call support: availability outside standard hours for urgent issues.
