Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis of aircraft components and assemblies as part of an integrated engineering team.
  • Perform load calculations, static strength, fatigue, damage tolerance, buckling, and vibration analysis as applicable.
  • Evaluate structural integrity using classical hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Develop FBDs, load paths, interface loads, internal load distributions, and structural response to applied loads.
  • Develop, review, and validate FEA models, including idealization, mesh, boundary conditions, load application, and result interpretation.
  • Analyze metallic and composite structures, including joints, fasteners, lugs, and load-transfer mechanisms.
  • Prepare and review strength check notes and formal stress reports, ensuring technical accuracy and traceability.
  • Identify technical risks, challenge assumptions, and provide sound engineering recommendations and solutions.
  • Lead technical problem solving, root-cause analysis, design trade studies, and structural optimization.
  • Review/approve analysis performed by other engineers and provide technical guidance and mentoring.
  • Support structural testing, analysis-test correlation, and aircraft certification activities.
  • Collaborate with Design, Loads, Materials, Manufacturing, Test, and Certification teams and global engineering organizations.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, standardization, and knowledge sharing.
  • Own assigned technical deliverables and support schedule, cost, OTD, FPY, and other engineering metrics.
  • Demonstrate strong engineering judgment, attention to detail, and ability to deliver high-quality work under aggressive schedules.


Basic Qualifications

  • BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 12–16 years of relevant aerospace structural analysis experience.
  • Strong knowledge of solid mechanics, structural mechanics, machine design, and aircraft structures.
  • Good knowledge of metallic and composite materials and structural analysis.
  • Strong understanding of structural load paths, failure modes, and structural response.
  • Experience with Nastran/Patran, HyperMesh, or equivalent FEA tools.
  • Knowledge of fatigue, damage tolerance, buckling, and structural substantiation.
  • Knowledge of aircraft design, materials, manufacturing processes, and certification requirements is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional/global team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; scripting/automation skills (Python/MATLAB/VBA) are desirable
