As a Principal Engineer, you'll play a key role in our innovative team dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for our global customers.
From powering platforms like NBCUniversal’s Peacock in the United States to Sky’s NOW, and SkyShowtime across Europe, your contributions will impact millions of viewers worldwide.
Provide technical leadership across entire codebases, acting as a subject matter expert and key decision maker for architecture, scalability, and system reliability.
Set and maintain the long-term technical strategy in collaboration with team members, and lead critical architectural decisions across the codebase in collaboration with senior leadership.
Shape the engineering culture and establish technical standards that promote consistency, reusability, and highquality development practices across the organization.
Define strategic technical direction and develop actionable plans to improve KPIs.
Lead platform-level and strategic technical innovation efforts, evaluating and integrating emerging technologies that drive long-term value in collaboration with senior leadership.
What you'll bring:
Ownership of initiatives
Tech Knowledge – Expert in leveraging current tools to develop new features and functionalities, and capable of exploring unfamiliar tools and technologies to solve complex problems.
Ability to make good technical decisions and to convince others as to the merits and reasons for those decision.
Demonstrable track record in the design and delivery of leading-edge strategic business solutions from concept through implementation.
High understanding of application design and architecture and proven leadership skills.
Delivering results while upholding high quality.
- Experience and strong ability in either Java, Scala, Python, NodeJS or Kotlin, and database technologies.
API development, self-hosted or Application Server-based.
Containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Mentored team members with a strong commitment to their growth.
