The Position

As Device Technology Lead, you will drive the technology development of drug delivery platforms for parenteral application systems. Combining deep engineering expertise with a strong patient-centric mindset, you will shape cutting-edge solutions that create meaningful value through innovation. This position can be filled in Ingelheim or Biberach

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In this role, you will lead the technological development of drug delivery platforms for subcutaneous and/or ocular applications with a key focus on container closure system integration (PFS, cartridges).
  • Bridge formulation requirements and mechanical/device performance to ensure an adequate system level definition, verification of container closure solutions in accordance with design controls
  • You will contribute significantly to the evolving device portfolio and address complex technological challenges such as particle controls or sterilization integrity to develop benchmark solutions and accelerate time to market.
  • As Device Technology Lead, you will drive change in a serve as the key point of contact within a complex, highly focused and matrix-driven product development environment.
  • Leveraging your expertise, you will lead cross-functional networks matrix teams with internal and external stakeholders to drive change and accelerate development activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and risk assessment to support project decisions from development to product launch ensuring robustness and lifecycle sustainability.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD or MD), master’s degree (e.g., MBA), or diploma in an engineering-related discipline, combined with extensive industry experience in parenteral device development, ideally with knowledge in ocular delivery
  • Broad expertise in regulatory requirements and technical standards for combination product development is preferred, particularly in 21 CFR Parts 4 and 820; ISO 62366; 11608; 11040 & 14971
  • Profound understanding of device design, primary container integration, evaluation and statistics is a must
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proven technical writing and documentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
