Our client is a large utility with a rapid growing energy services division. They help their customers complete infrastructure improvement to achieve their sustainability goals

R espon sibili ties
Le ads the ide ntification and deve lopm ent of viab le Com me rcial & Industr ial and/or F ederal sector ene rgy services and ener gy as set proje cts i nitiated by t he sales fo rce or dev el oped in dep en dent ly   Provides tec hnical and f ina ncial ana ly sis of ene rgy con servation m easu res and ene rgy sup ply for p ro jects under con side rat ion. Ev aluates ene rgy savi ng o pportu nities at customer faci lities.  Participa tes in the pro cess of securing n ew custo mers by bui ldi ng b usiness relat ions hips.  Assumes acti ve support roles in the sa les and bid p rocess, and insta llati on p hase.  Acts as liais on be tween the Sales and Pr oj ect Manage me nt teams.

Job Functi ons
  • Conducts e ner gy a udits a nd pre pares wri tten p ro pos als identif ying pote ntial e ner gy c onservati on upg rades. Performs det ail ed ana ly ses of costs and sav ings.
  • Employs technical expertise to devel op pr elimi na ry de signs and estimates of cost and e ner gy sav ing opportu nities at custome r's facilities. Prov ides tech nical a nd imple mentat ion recomme ndat ions to the cus tomer.
  • Creates detailed and comprehensive scopes of work that allow subcontractors to fully understand and accurately provide bids.
  • Provide accurate internal MEP cost estimates for all ECMs to allow for price comparison against bids received.
  • Create MEP schematic design drawings for bidding purposes.
  • Select and specify all sizes and types of HVAC/R and Building Automation systems, for best fit and efficiency in developing projects.
  • Supports sa les team in de vel opi ng a nd p resent ing energy savings p rop osals to customers.
  • Implements comp any pro ject control pro cesses for p rojects in accor dan ce wi th esta blis hed cost, schedu le, and q ua li ty r equi rements.
  • Provides pe riodic status re ports to mana gement on pr oje ct status and/or perfo rmance.
  • Coord inates pro ject turnov er with Pr oject Man agem ent.
  • Demonstrat es lea dersh ip in the area of sa fety This requ ires obser ving and en coura ging sa fe work be haviors.

Qualificati ons
Technical/Job Skill Qu alificat ions: The ca ndi date must meet the fol lowing minimum q ualificat ions and have dem onstrated the fo ll owing tech nic al or job ski lls:

  • Education a nd/or expe ri ence eq uiva lent to a B ach elor’s deg ree from an accre dited c olle ge in en gin eer ing a nd/or bus iness- relat ed disc ipl ine and 8 y ears of relev ant work exper ience in the eval uati on and i mple men tation of ener gy conservat ion projects with te chni cal so luti ons at customer site locations.
  • Profession al Eng inee ri ng (PE) registrati on, Certifi ed Ener gy Ma nager (C EM) and/or LE ED Accreditat ion preferred.
  • De monstra ted a bili ty to d evel op comp lex ene rgy con servation sa vi ng projects.
  • Detail ed kn owledge of heat ing, venti lati ng, air co nditi on ing (HVAC), electrical systems, and pro cess relat ed syste ms in commerc ial, industr ial, g overnm ental, hos pital, and laboratory bui ldings.
  • Exper ience in dev elop ing ener gy conser vation projects in volv ing ren ewab le ene rgy te chnolog ies, large pr ime movers su ch as combust ion turbi nes, bi omass and landfill gas fa cilit ies.
  • Knowledgeable of the steps required for project commissioning.
  • E xperi ence in the de vel opment of customer pro posals, vendor agr eements, and subc ontractor contracts.
  • Kn owl ed ge of and experi ence in ene rgy con servati on pr ogr ams with t he Feder al Govern ment throu gh Super ESPC and/or Area -wide contract veh icles a nd with FEMP/IPMVP Measur ement and Verif ication gu ide lines and protocols.
  • Exper ien ce in customer pr esentati ons, inc lud ing excel lent writ ing ski lls.
  • Effective interpers onal, ver bal a nd written communi cati on skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an entire project team to develop and present proposals, obtain customer buy-in, and help to transition smoothly to implementation.
  • Proficien cy on the use of c omputer- based ap plicat ions includ ing Mic ro soft Excel, Wor d, Outlook, and pro ject data base ap plicat ion s
  • Ability to perform load calculations and energy analyses using industry modeling software programs including Carrier Hourly Analysis Program, eQuest, and/or Trane Trace.
  • Abili ty to work in a diver se envir onment (in tern al/ exter nal).
  • Effective leaders hip ski lls.
  • Must possess valid d river's licen se.
  • M ay be s ub ject to govern ment securi ty in vestigat ion
  • Must meet eligi bili ty r equi rements f or acc ess to govern ment facilit ies.
