Wood Chennai Office is hiring the candidate for the Principal Designer in Electrical expertise in Offshore FPSO Projects Oil & Gas project experience is preferred.

Due to the nature of the projects the sites are spread across Global. Therefore, this role can be based at any of our Chennai offices on a hybrid / remote basis with the expectation of regular travel as required.

The Role

Wood Chennai Office is hiring the candidate for the Principal Designer in Electrical expertise in Offshore FPSO Projects Ability to prepare and check engineering deliverables in a multi-discipline task force-based engineering environment (Essential) Oil & Gas project experience is preferred.

Typical responsibilities

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Design environment with lead role in project

execution (Essential).

• Ability to lead large/medium teams in a multi-discipline task force-based engineering

environment (Essential)

• Proven expertise in FEED and EPC Engineering execution

• Experience in offshore projects- Preferable

• Leadership of large design teams in a multi-discipline project environment, to produce deliverables

on schedule, of the correct quality and technical content.

• Perform FEED / detailed design for offshore electrical systems for Fixed platforms, FPSOs and

brownfield modifications

• Discipline expert in the production and checking of electrical design deliverables, including Single

line diagrams, Block diagrams, Schematic/Connection diagrams, Electrical equipment layouts / Substation layouts, Lighting layouts, Earthing layouts, Hazardous area classification layouts, Cable tray

layouts and Cable routing layouts.

• Discipline expert in the activities, procedures, and methods associated with electrical systems

design development, including Cable scheduling and routing design, Cable tray filling design,

Lighting design, Electrical bulk material take-off

• Discipline expert in the application of AutoCAD / MicroStation for the production of 2D electrical

drawings.

• Experienced in managing the development of electrical design in a 3D model environment via 3D

CAD modelling systems (PDMS / E3D / SP3D)

• Expert in managing design interface issues with other disciplines

Expected:

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Equivalent (Essential)
• 10 - 20 years of experience in electrical design, with offshore project exposure (Essential)

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Design environment with lead role in project

execution (Essential).
• Ability to lead large/medium teams in a multi-discipline task force-based engineering

environment (Essential)
• Proven expertise in FEED and EPC Engineering execution
