Australia’s electricity network is undergoing its most significant transformation in decades. Billions are being invested into transmission upgrades, network reinforcement, asset replacement programs and grid reliability projects to support renewables integration and long-term energy security. This sustained infrastructure pipeline is not cyclical hiring, it is structural, long-term demand.

Brunel’s Renewables & Utilities division is expanding to capitalise on this growth, and we are seeking a Principal Consultant to lead our Power & Distribution specialism. This desk focuses exclusively on utilities, network operators and asset owners. It does not cover EPC or OEM project delivery. It is pure network infrastructure.

The Opportunity

This is not a cold start desk. Brunel holds some of the strongest Power & Utilities PSA agreements in Australia, providing direct access to hiring managers, repeat requirements and long-term workforce programs. You will step into an established framework with immediate credibility in the market, allowing you to focus on building depth, not just chasing activity.

You will take full ownership of a 360 desk operating across:

• Transmission Network Service Providers
• Distribution Network Service Providers
• Substations and grid augmentation projects
• Network planning and system engineering
• Asset operations and maintenance
• Technical field services and engineering roles

You will build both permanent and contract revenue streams while deepening relationships across multi-level stakeholders within major utilities.

The Support Structure

This role sits within a national Renewables & Power team and is backed by significant infrastructure. You will not be operating in isolation or expected to build without support. The business has invested heavily in this vertical and is committed to its growth.

Your support includes:

• Market-leading Power & Utilities PSA agreements
• A dedicated Business Development Manager who sits on energy industry boards and maintains strong executive relationships across the sector
• Leaders who have operated within energy and utilities recruitment for over 10 years
• National collaboration across generation, renewables and grid teams

This structure is designed to help you scale quickly while maintaining quality and strategic positioning.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a commercially driven 360 recruiter who wants ownership of a specialist infrastructure desk and understands the value of long-term relationship building within technical markets. This role will suit someone who enjoys engaging with engineers and infrastructure professionals and who can combine disciplined activity with strategic account management.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven 360 recruitment experience
• Exposure to engineering, infrastructure or utilities markets
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship mapping capability
• Commercial acumen and a performance mindset
• The confidence to operate with autonomy
