Department Summary:
The Electric Risk & Compliance organization provides governance, oversight, and strategic direction on risk and compliance matters across Electric Operations, ensuring alignment with enterprise policies and external/internal regulatory requirements. It partners cross-functionally to manage compliance requirements, strengthen controls, and enable risk-based oversight through effective monitoring, data, and reporting. The Compliance Insights team provides strategic, comprehensive data analysis, reporting, and data-driven insights that support Electric compliance, investigations, and risk management.
As a Principal Compliance & Risk Consultant on the Compliance Controls team in the Electric Risk and Compliance insights organization, you will work across the Electric organization to identify, document, and test key compliance controls, including developing controls test plans. You will evaluate and provide insight on control deficiencies to determine potential impact to Electric. You will pressure-test and refine compliance solutions and present test findings and make controls enhancement recommendations to functional management once design and operating effectiveness testing is complete. You will help strengthen Electric’s Compliance program by guiding program development, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
The role applies compliance, risk, and quality expertise to advance capabilities against PG&E’s Compliance Maturity Model and align program design with recognized standards for effective compliance and ethics programs, including the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
You will also provide strategic and tactical guidance on enhancing the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of various foundational elements within PG&E’s compliance program framework. You will apply deep technical knowledge of compliance, risk management, and quality assurance to ensure consistent interpretation and application of compliance program maturity standards across Electric Compliance sub-functions and key partner teams. You ensure compliance isn't just followed but is embedded in how PG&E operates in an evolving energy landscape.
The selected candidate must live within PG&E’s service territory, and will be required to work in the office 2-3 days a week.
