Brunel continues to grow its presence across the Australian Defence industry, partnering with leading primes, OEMs, and sovereign capability suppliers across land, maritime, and aerospace programs.

We’re now seeking a Principal Consultant to lead permanent recruitment delivery and drive new business growth within Defence — based in Perth, with access to an established national client base and the full support of Brunel’s Defence network across Australia.

The Opportunity

This is a true 360 recruitment role, combining sales and delivery across complex, high-value Defence programs. You’ll work with existing accounts while driving new opportunities across Australia — building relationships with primes, sub-primes, and SMEs supporting national shipbuilding, manufacturing, and sustainment programs.

You’ll also have the opportunity to travel nationally to Defence hubs including Adelaide, Melbourne, and Brisbane to meet clients, visit sites, and strengthen relationships across major projects.

You’ll have autonomy to run your desk like it’s your own business — supported by a national Defence team, trusted brand, and global infrastructure that opens doors across the sector.

Your Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing Defence clients and decision-makers.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities across Defence and adjacent sectors.
• Manage end-to-end delivery of permanent recruitment assignments across engineering, manufacturing, and corporate roles.
• Collaborate with national consultants to deliver on group accounts and large-scale projects.
• Represent Brunel at Defence industry events and client meetings nationwide.
