As a Senior Power BI & Data Automation Developer, you will play a critical role in designing scalable reporting platforms, automating business processes, and creating high-quality data products that empower teams across ERM and our client organizations.

What You'll Bring:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, GIS, Geography, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience delivering business intelligence, data engineering, analytics, or automation solutions.
• Advanced expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report development, and performance optimization.
• Strong SQL experience, including complex query development, database design, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Python for data transformation, automation, systems integration, and analytics.
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines and automated data workflows.
• Experience building solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Understanding of relational databases, data quality controls, and data governance principles.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Fabric, Azure, Power Platform, or Data Engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Dataverse, data lakes, notebooks, and CI/CD practices.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling, semantic-layer design, and enterprise BI governance.
• Experience integrating Power BI with GIS platforms, spatial services, or Esri technologies.
• Background supporting environmental, engineering, infrastructure, energy, utilities, or consulting projects.
• Experience with APIs, JSON, authentication frameworks, and system integrations.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, or leading technical initiatives.
• Knowledge of data security, privacy, metadata management, and production support environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, applications, and reusable data products.
• Own end-to-end BI development, from data ingestion and modeling through dashboard delivery and ongoing support.
• Build and optimize relational and dimensional data models that enable scalable, high-performing analytics.
• Develop, review, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and reporting structures.
• Create and maintain Python-based solutions for data processing, integration, validation, and automation.
• Design and support ETL/ELT pipelines, automated refresh processes, and data integration workflows.
• Develop Power Apps and Power Automate solutions that streamline business processes and improve productivity.
• Integrate information from enterprise systems, databases, APIs, SharePoint, flat files, and geospatial platforms.
• Perform data validation, quality assurance, reconciliation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Document system architectures, business rules, technical designs, and support procedures.
• Collaborate with project managers, scientists, GIS specialists, and client stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Mentor team members, promote development standards, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
