The Cloud Architect is responsible for defining the organization’s cloud strategy and ensuring the infrastructure meets its business and technical requirements. This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring. The Cloud Architect will oversee application architecture and deployment in cloud environments including public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and maintain a cloud strategy that enables the organization to implement solutions and capabilities in the cloud that are aligned with business and technical requirements.

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based architecture across the organization using industry best practices, focusing on efficiency, scalability, availability, performance, and security.

  • Define cloud adoption process that can coordinate and align adoption across the organization and ensure business continuity.

  • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud technologies, platforms, and tools, to meet the company's needs and drive innovation.

  • Optimize cloud-based systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.

  • Identify and recommend monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of the cloud infrastructure.

  • Identify and recommend performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other operational issues in the cloud environment.

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in cloud computing, distributed systems, and cyber security.

  • Other job functions as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science related expertise.

  • 10+ years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical cloud architecture, network management, middleware, database management or operations.

  • Certification in Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect AZ-305 is required. Other industry related certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Arcitura Certified Cloud Architect, etc. are highly desired.

  • Experience with Azure Shell scripting/PowerShell scripting

  • Knowledge of all components of technical architecture

  • Understanding of Windows Server architecture –Windows 2016, Windows 2019 and IIS;

  • Understanding of Linux Server architecture – RHEL, Oracle Linux, Amazon Linux, etc.

  • Experience with containers and orchestration technologies.

  • Familiarity with server hardware selection, design and troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of High Availability and Networked Storage solutions including Clustering, Failover and Disaster Recovery products and concepts such as MS Clustering Services, Load Balancing, Routers, LUNS, SAN and NAS;

  • Understanding of application layer protocols, such as HTTP/S, TCP/IP, UDP and Web sockets.

  • Demonstrated abilities with SSO-related software such as AADConnect, ADFS, Ping Identity, OpenSSO, oAuth, Okta or other SAML & OpenID Connect providers.

  • Hands on experience designing and deploying complex solutions in Azure

  • Highly collaborative and supportive of business and of its ideals and strategies.

  • Highly innovative with aptitude for foresight, systems thinking and design thinking.

  • Excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Pay Range

$130,000.00-$214,510.40 Salary

The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
