About the Role

We're seeking a Principal Civil Engineer (Roads & Highways) with proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and delivering major infrastructure projects across the transport industry. You'll be based in our Cairns office, helping to expand our capability across Queensland while enjoying the benefits of a relaxed, tropical lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Lead civil and transport infrastructure design projects with a focus on roads and highways
  • Drive business development across FNQ and QLD through relationship building and repeat work
  • Deliver technical excellence while ensuring projects are on time and within budget
  • Mentor and grow a talented, local engineering team
  • Contribute to strategic planning and capability expansion in the region

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • 15+ years’ experience in roads & highways design and project delivery
  • Solid understanding of the Queensland market and relevant design standards
  • Strong project management and client engagement skills
  • A commitment to technical excellence and continuous improvement
  • Able to travel occasionally (domestic/international) as needed
  • Chartered status (or working towards) will be highly regarded
