Principal CG Motion Designer

The HP Design Organization is pursuing a Principal 3D Designer to amplify the conceptual visualization and storytelling of the HP product portfolio and solution. This is a senior level role for someone who can operate at both the conceptual and executional level—shaping creative design direction through proposals and conceptual frameworks, in turn, elevating the overall creative standard of the studio. This is a highly collaborative role with an on-site expectation to work closely with adjacent design leads, alongside other CG team members. This role will help shape and support customer engagement presentation through creative storytelling in the form of still imagery, graphics and motion.


Key Responsibilities:


Technical Leadership

  • Lead the 3D vision across projects, setting the standard for form, proportion, and visual storytelling

  • Translate abstract concepts into compelling, production-ready digital form

  • Partner closely with industrial designers, engineers, sustainability, and leadership to shape visual direction

Advanced Visuals

  • Create photorealistic renderings and animations for client presentations, internal reviews and

  • Develop flexible, scalable 3D systems that support iteration and versioning

  • Introduce new means and methods to amplify visual impact

Product Realization

  • Bridge the gap between early conceptual design and final production ready CAD

  • Maintain internal libraries of databases, and CMF data

  • Ensure design intent is maintained through development and final execution

  • Partner in internal reviews with marketing to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency of product visuals are being met.

Process & Craft

  • Establish and evolve best practices for modeling, rendering, and asset management

  • Introduce new tools, workflows, and technologies that improve quality and efficiency

  • Uphold a high bar for craft, consistency, and detail across all outputs


Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design , or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in industrial design and development of physical hardware products and systems, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

The pay range for this role is$147,050to$230,850USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
