Within the Executive Office, this role serves as a strategic builder of the organization’s execution engine. The Principal, Business Transformation, AI & Automation will redesign critical business processes, starting with roadmap management, and build the KPI, telemetry, and automation foundations that improve visibility, decision quality, and operating velocity. This leader will use data, collaboration signals, and AI-enabled workflows to reduce friction, strengthen alignment, and help Microsoft Security operate at the pace required in the AI era.
Responsibilities
Redesign the end-to-end roadmap process—including intake, prioritization, dependencies, sequencing, and governance—to improve clarity, alignment, and execution rigor.
Define and operationalize productivity metrics, in partnership with the CTO team, to improve delivery speed, roadmap predictability, decision velocity, and collaboration efficiency.
Embed AI and automation into core business workflows—including planning, roadmap management, reporting, and execution tracking—to reduce manual effort, accelerate decisions, and improve operating efficiency.
Leverage data and collaboration signals—including Microsoft Graph, Azure DevOps, and telemetry—to understand execution patterns and identify opportunities to improve organizational performance.
Identify friction across planning, collaboration, and delivery, and translate insights into simpler workflows that increase speed, alignment, and organizational velocity.

Required/minimum qualifications
Business Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
