The Fixed Income Technology team partners closely with Fixed Income investment teams. Our goal is to deliver best-in-class portfolio management and trading solutions that empower business users to perform at the highest level.
The team focuses on delivering innovative solutions using the latest technology, optimizing workflows and data modeling/analytics, and building applications that not only make our business more effective and efficient, but also enable global scalability.
As a Principal Business Analyst in the Fixed Income Technology team, you will work closely with portfolio managers, traders, research analysts, quants, compliance and risk managers, and operations staff who support Invesco’s fixed income business. You will also partner with technology team members such as developers and QA specialists, as well as external vendors.
You will bring deep experience with fixed income business workflows and systems to help define requirements that enable investment teams to automate processes, introduce new capabilities, and make better data-driven decisions to improve investment outcomes and execution quality.
You will help create solutions that meet the firm’s long-term goals in functionality, supportability, extensibility, and scalability.
This role also provides an opportunity to explore the latest technology stack to enhance the current business model.
Liaising with business partners to identify investment needs and gaps relative to current functionality and translating them into technology requirements.
Acting as the subject matter expert on fixed income business workflows
Partnering with developers and product owners to ensure successful outcomes.
Interfacing with vendors such as BlackRock Systems, Bloomberg, and Perform.
Supporting the full lifecycle of projects: planning, design, development, testing, and rollout; in alignment with Agile standards
Hands-on experience with Aladdin, with strong knowledge of its modules, capabilities, and limitations.
Strong understanding of business workflows and how systems such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, and Perform support various types of business users.
Experience working with database and reporting systems (preferably PowerBI).
Familiarity with Agile methodology.
Ability to adapt to new technologies as they become available and keep pace with a constantly changing environment.
Comfortable working with ambiguity (e.g., imperfect data, loosely defined concepts, ideas, or goals) and translating these into more tangible outputs
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Self-motivated, capable of working independently and iteratively, while also contributing effectively as a team player.
Working knowledge of Python programming is strongly preferred
Familiarity with cloud-based development is a plus.
