The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Principal Building Services Design Coordinator to join our Infrastructure Solutions business. This is a senior, hands-on digital design leadership role responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary building services models and driving high-quality digital engineering outcomes across major projects.

You will take ownership of model coordination, design integration, and digital delivery processes from concept through to construction, working closely with engineers, designers, and project teams. This role combines advanced BIM/modelling capability with project coordination leadership and technical oversight.

Working within our collaborative “One Team” environment, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring digital design excellence across buildings and infrastructure projects. You will lead coordination of building services models, manage digital engineering workflows, and act as the key point of contact for design coordination issues across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models across building services (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and ICT).
• Manage and deliver digital models, including clash detection, verification, and issue resolution.
• Take ownership of design coordination, ensuring alignment between engineering intent and model deliverables.
• Develop, implement, and manage Digital Engineering Execution Plans (DEEP) and modelling protocols.
• Oversee model quality, data integrity, and compliance with KBR, client, and project standards.
• Lead design coordination workshops and facilitate model-based reviews with project stakeholders.
• Guide and mentor designers, drafters, and discipline modellers, providing technical leadership and oversight.
• Support project setup including Revit families, shared parameters, and coordination workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure integrated, constructible design solutions.
• Contribute to bid development and represent digital engineering capability to clients where required.

About You

You are a highly experienced BIM professional with strong building services coordination expertise and a passion for digital engineering. You are comfortable leading model coordination efforts while remaining hands-on in delivery and problem-solving.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Extensive experience in BIM/modelling within building services projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP, with strong working knowledge of Navisworks and AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary models on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of building services systems and relevant Australian standards.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and take ownership of coordination, modelling, and documentation deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Diploma or degree in engineering, design, or a related discipline.

Highly Regarded

• Experience delivering Defence or large infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Revizto or similar model-based collaboration platforms.
• Experience developing or implementing Digital Engineering strategies or execution plans.
