Principal Engineer – Bridge Design

We are looking to connect with senior professionals in bridge engineering, particularly with experts in bridge design and/or structural asset management, for the delivery of complex projects across Aotearoa. Our locations of interest are, Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington

  • You will provide consultancy services to clients in the areas of bridge and civil structures design and asset management with a focus on analysis, assessment, design, reporting, technical documentation, and construction observation for transport projects, or supporting other sectors as may be required.
  • Oversea technical input and be technical review/approver where suitable for projects within the group.
  • Lead design in key projects ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
  • Maintain active involvement in project delivery to support utilisation targets.
  • Review the quality of deliverables and alignment of disciplines into a cohesive package (with no gaps/conflicts).
  • Determine/assess constructability and readability of drawings, to minimise interpretation conflict during construction. Lead programme management of disciplines.
  • Be an active member of the team, contributing to the success of the group in meeting its business plan and strategic objectives.
  • Lead structural input or projects with a bridges and civil structures discipline bias, as appropriate.
  • Implement innovative ideas and technology to provide benefits to the client and the wider group.

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Preferably minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in the field of bridge engineering, including experience in seismic design.
  • Relevant structural analysis software packages
  • Chartered Professional Engineering (CPEng) status or equivalent
