Job Description

We take play seriously. We’re looking for curious adventurers ready to find their party, fueled by imagination and drive to build what’s never been built before. At Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, you’ll collaborate with passionate teams to reimagine our iconic brands and create experiences that spark joy, connection, and community through the magic of play. This is your chance to shape legendary play that lasts a lifetime.

Hasbro is updating the way work is conducted across supply chain, go to market, finance, consumer products, and licensing. Our mature RPA practice on Automation Anywhere is now growing to include agentic AI. These systems interpret unstructured inputs, invoke tools, and perform complex workflows with human oversight where needed. We are looking for a Principal Automation Specialist to act as the senior technical expert in this initiative. This hands-on leadership role involves setting the architectural vision for our intelligent automation platform, building the most complex elements, and raising the team’s technical standards.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Automation Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Architect and build agentic automation: LLM-orchestrated workflows that combine deterministic RPA with reasoning based on data patterns, tool/API calling, and structured output.
  • Extend our Automation Anywhere estate — migrate brittle, screen-scraped bots to API- and agent-based patterns and decide deliberately when a task should stay deterministic.
  • Build the reliability layer that makes agents safe to run in production: evaluation harnesses, regression suites, confidence thresholds, human-in-the-loop approval gates, fallback paths, and audit logging.
  • Own the integration surface — connect agents to ERP (SAP), data platforms, ticketing, and internal APIs via standardized tool interfaces (e.g., MCP servers, REST/GraphQL, event-driven triggers).
  • Apply document and language intelligence to workflows that resisted classic RPA: invoices, purchase orders, retailer chargebacks, licensing agreements, vendor correspondence.
  • Partner with business interested parties to seize opportunities and identify what's worth automating, what isn't, and what the realistic value and risk profile look like.
  • Set engineering standards: reusable components, timely and agent versioning, CI/CD for automations, code review, observability, and cost-per-run monitoring for model usage.
  • Work with Security and Legal on responsible AI practice — data handling, PII boundaries, model selection, access controls, and detailed decision trails.
  • Mentor automation engineers through build reviews, pairing, and hands-on mentoring; grow the team's proficiency in AI-native patterns.
  • Track the ecosystem and separate genuine capability from vendor noise; run focused proofs of concept and make clear build/buy recommendations.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Proven experience in automation engineering, including deep production experience with Automation Anywhere or a comparable enterprise RPA platform.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-backed applications: timely composition, function/tool calling, RAG, structured outputs, and agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Practical judgment about non-determinism — how you test, evaluate, and monitor systems whose output varies run to run.
  • A strong background in leading teams and delivering ambitious projects.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A track record of technical influence without formal authority — driving standards, mentoring engineers, and aligning collaborators around an architecture.
  • Clear and effective communication with both engineers and non-technical business partners.

Join us at Hasbro and be part of a team that strives for excellence, innovation, and collaboration every day. Your expertise and leadership will help us compete at the highest level and achieve our ambitious goals!
