Are you an experienced roading asset management professional looking to make a nationwide impact? Join us as a Principal Asset Engineer, as part of a national team you will lead the development of regional works programmes, ensuring national service levels and strategic goals are met.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
As part of our Asset Management Regional team, you will be responsible for leading and facilitating the development of regional roading works programmes that deliver nationwide service levels and strategic targets. This critical role bridges the gap between our national planning and regional maintenance and operations teams, driving alignment and excellence in the implementation of transport asset management across New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of regional works programmes aligned with national strategies.
Ensure implementation delivers against the agreed plan.
Guide and support teams in asset management best practices.
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to optimise asset performance.
Drive continuous improvement in tactical and asset management planning.
Provide expert advice in emergency event recovery, ensuring whole-of-life asset value
Work closely with maintenance Alliance teams to ensure work programmes align with Regional Tactical Plans and deliver value for money.
Work closely with national asset management planning and information teams to ensure collaborative development of evidence based asset management practices

Ko koe tēnei | About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience in roading asset management and advanced data led decision making.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills to influence and guide stakeholders, including maintenance delivery contractors (Experience with Alliances is a plus)
Expertise in asset management planning, lifecycle management, and programme delivery.
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience and a valid NZ driver's license.
