Endava Australia is growing its work with strategic enterprise clients in mining, resources and asset-intensive industries. This Perth-based role is for a senior consulting architect who can become deeply embedded with major clients, build trusted executive relationships and bring practical architecture judgement to complex transformation and delivery conversations.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Perth-based Principal Architect to act as a trusted architecture advisor for strategic mining and resources clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing architecture role for someone who understands how large organisations make technology decisions, shape transformation roadmaps and move complex work from idea to execution.

You will work closely with senior client stakeholders across technology, operations, transformation and enterprise leadership, helping connect business priorities with architecture decisions that are executable, maintainable and commercially realistic. You will be involved across the client relationship, from early opportunity shaping and advisory conversations through to solution direction, mobilisation and delivery confidence.

Working with Client Partners, Sales, Commercial, Delivery and Engineering leadership, you will bring architecture credibility, industry understanding and delivery awareness to the account. This is not a quota-carrying sales role, but your trusted client relationships and technical judgement will help Endava identify, shape and progress the right opportunities.

Where you will have impact

You will be embedded in strategic client conversations, helping understand business priorities, shape architecture direction and explain trade-offs clearly to business and technology leaders. You will bring the architecture judgement needed to turn ambition into roadmaps, roadmaps into delivery plans and delivery plans into successful outcomes.

Your industry experience will matter. Candidates with mining, resources, energy, utilities, heavy industry or other asset-intensive environments will bring valuable context, especially where technology needs to work across complex operations, data platforms, enterprise systems, integration landscapes, cloud services and field or remote operational environments.

The role is designed for someone who enjoys long-term client advisory: building trust, shaping direction, spotting opportunities and helping delivery teams start with a clear technical path.

Responsibilities

  • Act as trusted architecture advisor: work closely with strategic client stakeholders across technology, operations and transformation.
  • Advise executive stakeholders: engage senior client leaders with clear, credible and commercially aware architecture guidance.
  • Bring mining and resources context: apply industry understanding to shape practical solutions for complex, asset-intensive environments.
  • Guide solution direction: translate business goals and operational constraints into architecture options, trade-offs, roadmaps and delivery-ready recommendations.
  • Shape the right opportunities: partner with Client Partners and Sales to identify, qualify and shape work that is valuable, credible and executable.
  • Bring technical confidence to decisions: support assumptions, delivery approaches, non-functional requirements and mobilisation planning.
  • Connect architecture with delivery: ensure solution decisions are clear enough for delivery teams to plan, mobilise and execute with confidence.
  • Lead technical assurance: provide architecture review and guidance across complex engagements where technical direction matters.
  • Influence across teams: work with engineering, delivery, commercial and architecture colleagues to align solution choices with client outcomes.
  • Mentor and lift capability: support architects and senior engineers through coaching, review and practical architecture leadership.

Qualifications

Essential experience and skills

  • Significant experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture or senior technical consulting.
  • Strong client advisory experience, including shaping opportunities, guiding roadmaps and presenting technical options to senior clients.
  • Experience working with mining, resources, energy, utilities, heavy industry or other asset-intensive organisations.
  • Ability to operate with executive stakeholders, translating complex technical choices into clear business and delivery implications.
  • Broad technical experience across modern software engineering, integration, cloud, data platforms, APIs, enterprise systems or operational technology-adjacent environments.
  • Commercial awareness, including the ability to shape solutions that are technically credible, deliverable and commercially realistic.
  • Experience creating solution strategies, high-level architectures, roadmaps, estimates and technical narratives for major client initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior client and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience guiding architecture governance, technical reviews and solution assurance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create confidence in complex client conversations.

Desirable experience

  • Experience with large mining or resources clients, ideally from a Perth-based or comparable market context.
  • Exposure to operational technology, remote operations, asset management, safety-critical environments or industrial data platforms.
  • Experience supporting strategic account growth, large bids, RFPs or multi-phase transformation programmes.
  • Experience working across distributed, multi-shore or APAC delivery models.
  • Relevant architecture, cloud, data, security or delivery certifications are helpful, but practical consulting impact matters most.
