Your New Role
The Principal, AML/CTF & Fraud acts as the Fund’s AML/CTF Compliance Officer and is accountable for the critical role of ensuring that the business procedures used by AustralianSuper comply with the AML/CTF Act and the AML/CTF Rules. The Principal is also accountable for ensuring that the Fund’s approach to minimising the instances of fraud and scams on AustralianSuper, and its members, is fit for purpose. The role must facilitate interfaces across the entire Fund, including International offices and within Group Risk.
Key duties include but not limited to;
Design and maintain AML/ CTF and Fraud policies and standards and oversee adherence to them.
Develop and maintain AustralianSuper’s ML/TF risk profile by undertaking risk assessment including of relevant key risk indicators.
Assisting with investigation of unusual and suspicious activity by employees, customer-members and borrowers and information about systemic weaknesses in AML/CTF processes and procedures.
Oversee compliance with the AML/CTF Act and the AML/CTF Rules, and any changes to these instruments.
Provide Fund-wide guidance on the controls that should be in place to prevent, detect and respond to fraud and corruption and have oversight of the Fund’s Fraud and Corruption Control Program.
Develop and maintain the fraud, corruption and scams control program.
Advise on, regularly monitor and promote continuous improvement in relation to controls that prevent, detect or respond to fraud, corruption (including bribery) and scams.
Motivate and inspire our people by demonstrating commitment to the Fund’s values, decision pillars and leadership principles.
Ensure our Members First culture is consistently and firmly embedded across the function.
Contribute both functional expertise and broader leadership and business management ideas, skills and experience as part of cross-Fund initiatives.
Develop and maintain relationships across all levels of the Fund, and senior level relationships with third parties and partners where required.
Provide advice in relation to regulatory change and risk management to effectively influence risk management and compliance outcomes.
What You’ll Need
Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.
Regulated industry experience, ideally in financial services.
Strong communication and influencing skills for audiences including Directors, the CEO, senior management and all other staff of AustralianSuper.
Possess an in-depth understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing methods.
Have a clear understanding of the risks to AustralianSuper of non-compliance with the AML/CTF Act and the AML/CTF Rules.
Know the business, products, services, customer-member segments, delivery channels and markets of AustralianSuper including the business processes associated with the provision of designated services.
Know and understand AustralianSuper’s money laundering and terrorist financing risk profile, the risk methodology used to create the profile and the links with AustralianSuper’s Risk Management Framework.
