Purpose of Role

The Principal, Technical Product Management is accountable for the strategy, roadmap, and end-to-end value realization of a Product Creation and Merchandising value stream. The role translates complex business opportunities into a multi-year product vision and prioritized roadmap, applying deep technical and product expertise to evaluate solution approaches, architecture trade-offs, data requirements, and emerging technologies. Working across business leaders, Global Process Owners, Engineering, Architecture, Data, and AI teams, the Principal Technical Product Manager leads through influence to align investment and delivery decisions from discovery and rapid experimentation through production, adoption, and scale. The role focuses technology investment on the highest-value opportunities and delivers scalable products that improve line planning, assortment decisions, and go-to-market readiness with measurable business outcomes.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Product Creation Technical Portfolio Lead. This is an individual contributor role that leads cross-functional work through influence rather than direct reporting authority. Technical Product Manager will have oversight of a dedicated squad to execute prioritize initiatives.

Your Impact

  • Own Product Vision & Strategy- Establish the multi-year product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a high-priority enterprise value stream, translating Under Armour's strategic objectives and business opportunities into clear product priorities and outcomes.
  • Drive Business Value & Value Realization- Own the value thesis and success measures for the product portfolio, prioritizing investments based on expected business impact and continuously measuring adoption, outcomes, and realized value.
  • Shape Solutions Through Deep Technical Product Leadership- Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Data, AI, Security, and other technology leaders to evaluate solution options and make informed trade-offs across business value, technical feasibility, scalability, risk, cost, and speed.
  • Lead Discovery, Experimentation & Product Evolution- Turn ambiguous or emerging opportunities into testable product hypotheses, using discovery, prototypes, pilots, data, and user feedback to determine what should be scaled, changed, or stopped.
  • Orchestrate Across Enterprise Value Streams- Connect business processes, data, platforms, and products across organizational boundaries, ensuring individual product decisions support the broader end-to-end value stream rather than optimize a single function or system.
  • Influence Executive Decisions & Investment Priorities- Serve as the senior product voice for the value stream, creating clarity around opportunities, dependencies, trade-offs, risks, and investment choices and influencing senior business and technology leaders without relying on direct authority.
  • Set Product Management Standards & Elevate Product Craft- Act as a thought leader for Technical Product Management at Under Armour, establishing reusable product practices and mentoring other TPMs in areas such as product strategy, discovery, roadmaps, prioritization, outcome measurement, and value realization
