Principal AI Engineer - AI Centre

You provide the technical leadership to the AI Engineering teams, strategise and steer the centre to deliver AI capabilities for the SAF.

What You Will Do

• Oversee the various line of efforts with the multifaceted teams, including the research, product management, data science, to curate and chart AI strategies for the respective Centres of Excellence (COEs)
• Operationalise AI by working with stakeholders to get the necessary cross-flow of knowledge, codes and talents, driving technical discussions with the COEs to ensure that their AI developments are aligned to the overall strategy, as well as providing technical guidance for the building of AI solutioning and validation of models.
• Lead technical discussions and present complex AI solutioning to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Oversee the knowledge management efforts of codes and algorithm so as to enable code reusability and efficiently.
• Test and recommend new AI/ ML solutioning so as to support current and future possible use cases and oversee the curation of skills and courses suitable based on the jobs-skills-proficiency maps, and assessment rubrics.
• Build collaboration and partnerships by keeping abreast of the latest advancements in AI and ML technology so as to proactively identify, initiate and promulgate worthwhile engineering projects that could be maximise in similar use cases across the SAF.

What You Will Bring

• Education in quantitative, scientific and technology disciplines such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science and Analytics with at least eight years of experience in a relevant field.
• Deep understanding of AI/ ML, and hands-on experience working with current AI tools such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Strong leadership traits, good planning abilities, negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to manage complexity and uncertainties.
• Ability to balance the needs to multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to multi-task and work under a stressful environment.
