In this role, you'll:


Join Transport for NSW's newly stood up Asset and Prioritisation team and this role will see you lead and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists to support Energy Networks & Systems across all modes of transport, including substations, feeders, distribution systems and networks, and associated electrical infrastructure.


You willl pay a key rolei in overseeing the assessment and monitoring of Technical Assurance Organisations (TAOs), undertake investigations and performance assessments, and delivers effective and timely resolutions to technical issues to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable outcomes.


In addition to measuring the performance of TAO’s and providing advice about standards and specifications to enable the safe, reliable and cost-effective management of electrical assets, this role will also see you contribute to national and cross-modal technical harmonisation initiatives and represent TfNSW in relevant forums under the direction of the Chief Engineer.


This is a permanent ongoing role.

About you


You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent coupled with previous experience and knowledge in Overhead Wiring (OHW) systems in a rail environment. This includes design, maintenance or construction experience , HV aerial lines and underground cable systems.


Your demonstrated experience will include authoritative technical advice in comparable asset classes, experience developing technical documents, specifications and guidelines and additional experience in using best practice multi-media communication tools, software and platforms to disseminate information to a diverse audience.


You will have a sound understanding of risk assessments, asset management and reliability and possess exceptional communication skills that will allow you to liaise with a broad range of predominantly internal stakeholders at all levels.


You could have proven experience as an electrical engineer within a rail environment, or, roads background but have a strong understanding how overhead wiring and electrical systems work.
Previous experience with construction / maintenance / commissioning activities will be highly regarded.
