Job Description

The Therapist assesses patient needs, develops individualized care plans, and participates actively in treatment and ongoing care planning. They serve as the primary case manager for their assigned patients, conducting individual, family, specialized, and group therapy sessions. Clinical information from therapy sessions is shared collaboratively with the treatment team and relevant stakeholders. Therapists foster a supportive therapeutic environment in line with the daily program schedule and deliver compassionate patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Meet initially with patients to introduce themselves, clearly define their role, and outline treatment goals and expectations.
• Communicate proactively with patients’ family members and outpatient providers to coordinate care.
• Document assessments, therapy sessions, treatment progress, and discharge plans clearly and accurately in medical records, following program guidelines.
• Provide scheduled individual, group, and family therapy.
• Seek clinical supervision or support when faced with complex issues or therapeutic challenges.
• Conduct specialized therapy interventions as needed, including but not limited to Family Therapy, Equine Therapy, Art Therapy, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing (SE).
• Help organize and prepare materials for group therapy and educational sessions.
• Participate in on-call rotations as business needs arise.

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field required.
• Active state licensure (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) required or obtained within 90 days of hire if currently unlicensed. Candidates with a doctoral degree in Psychology who are unlicensed must pursue licensure upon hire, keeping HR updated on their progress.
• At least two years of relevant experience in behavioral health, particularly with trauma, chemical dependency, or eating disorders, ideally in a managed care environment.
• Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
• Valid Driver’s License and Driver Safety Training certification.
• Experience providing specialized therapies (Family Therapy, EMDR, sex addiction, trauma-focused therapies) preferred, especially if assigned to specialty treatment roles.
