At the John D. Kelly Clinic, you will play a vital role in supporting mental health wellness for individuals across the Finger Lakes region.
The Behavioral Health Clinician (Primary Therapist) provides comprehensive outpatient mental health services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This role establishes a safe, therapeutic environment; completes diagnostic assessments; develops treatment plans; and provides evidence-based individual and group therapy.
The clinician collaborates with clients, families, and an interdisciplinary care team to support recovery and illness management. This position also participates in the on-call rotation to provide mental health crisis evaluations for Finger Lakes Health Emergency Departments.
Minimum:
Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, Art Therapy, or Psychology.
Preferred:
PhD in a related discipline.
Required:
New York State license in one of the following:
Mental Health Counseling
Social Work
Nursing
Creative Arts Therapy
Valid NYS Driver’s License meeting FLH policy standards.
BLS certification via RQI during clinical orientation.
CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
Minimum:
1 year of experience in a mental health or hospital setting.
Preferred:
3 years of mental health experience.
Minimum:

Strong judgment, flexibility, accountability, and reliability.
Ability to meet departmental productivity standards.
Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
Computer literacy.
Preferred:
Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
Hourly Rate of Pay Based on working Experience as a Therapist.
