This position focuses on performing and documenting routine and non-routine biochemical characterization analyses of monoclonal antibodies in support of pharmaceutical development, with emphasis on primary structure studies using LC and LC/MS-based analytical methods. The scientist will support sample preparation, data collection, analysis, and reporting in accordance with departmental requirements, maintain detailed documentation of assay development and qualification activities, and contribute to reliable laboratory execution through organized recordkeeping, basic instrument upkeep, and adherence to applicable procedures.

  • Perform routine and non-routine biochemical characterization analyses of monoclonal antibodies to support pharmaceutical development activities, including peptide mapping, oligosaccharide mapping, and related routine methods.
  • Prepare, handle, and distribute samples for primary structure studies in accordance with established laboratory procedures and study requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and report analytical data in alignment with departmental standards and project expectations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of assay development, qualification, sample preparation, and data analysis activities.

All work is conducted in a biosafety level 1, 2, or 2+ laboratory environment. Hazardous materials and samples are handled with appropriate PPE, standard laboratory safety practices, and proper laboratory safety systems in place.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • BS or MS in Biochemistry or a related field
  • Basic understanding of amino acid chemistry and protein structure
  • Knowledge of LC and LC/MS analytical methods
  • Ability to perform minimal instrument maintenance
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain laboratory notebooks in a GXP-compliant manner and write technical memos
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restrictions

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills and Certifications

  • Graduate-level education in Biochemistry or a related field
  • Experience supporting protein characterization or pharmaceutical development activities

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with weekend work as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Malvern, PA are encouraged to apply.
