The Windmill School is an innovative specialist school for autistic pupils aged 5 to 19, where every aspect of education is designed around the strengths, needs and aspirations of autistic young people. Our approach is informed by leading autism research, developed in partnership with respected academics and autistic scholars, and delivered by a passionate team committed to exceptional outcomes. This is a school where autistic learners are understood, valued and empowered to thrive both in school and beyond.

We are looking for someone who can bring energy, expertise and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for autistic children and young people.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Experience of, or a keen interest in, teaching autistic pupils and supporting learners with a range of communication, sensory and learning needs.
• The ability to build positive, trusting relationships and create engaging, inclusive learning experiences that enable every pupil to thrive.
• A reflective and ambitious approach to teaching, with a willingness to embrace evidence-informed practice and contribute new ideas.
• High expectations for all pupils, with a passion for supporting their academic, social and emotional development.
• A collaborative and professional mindset, with a commitment to ongoing professional learning and working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
