BBIS has an opening for a Primary School German Teacher (f/m/d)
Location Kleinmachnow (Berlin region)
Contract type Part-time (18 teaching units per week / 24 working hours per week / 60% · 0.6 FTE)
Start date 1st August 2026, limited initially until 31st July 2028
Vacation 60 days per year, taken during school holidays
Salary range €55,059 - €61,885 gross/year (based on experience/classification) plus annual CPI-based adjustments / potential responsibility stipends
About this role: We are seeking an energetic, internationally-minded teacher committed to academic excellence, inclusive practice, and educating the whole child. You will teach German to Primary School students (Grades 1 to 5), guiding them through the IB PYP framework. By fostering an engaging and supportive environment, you will build student confidence and inspire a love for the German language.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES
- Instruction Teach German (Language and Literature and German Language Acquisition) to Primary School students (Grades 1 to 5) through the IBPYP framework.
- Development Support concept-based inquiry in German teaching and learning. Plan, assess, and report against clear learning outcomes.
- Inclusion Work in an inclusive environment with a diverse cohort of students and differentiate to accommodate individual learning needs.
- Support Promote student well-being in the German classroom and beyond. Demonstrate a strong belief that all students can succeed in the German language, building their confidence through the acquisition of foundational content, skills, and understandings.
- Collaboration Collaborate with colleagues, embrace opportunities for team teaching, and participate actively in the school’s ambitious and dynamic community.
YOUR QUALIFICATION
- Education Primary German Teaching certification.
- Experience PYP experience is preferable (not mandatory).
- Language Native-level fluency in German and highly proficient communication skills in English.
- Profile Energetic, internationally-minded, and proactive professional with a high level of initiative. Ability to motivate and inspire students and colleagues alike.

- Proof of immunity against measles, which must have been confirmed by a doctor if you were born after 1970. Alternatively, a medical certificate of medical contraindication can be provided.
- The original certificate of the highest obtained (university) degree.
- An extended certificate of conduct (erweitertes Führungszeugnis) that must not be older than six months.
- Proof of completed child protection / safeguarding training (invitation will follow)
