Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design electrical substations by preparing shop drawings (layouts, sections, grounding, cable routing, reinforcement

• plans) and ensure alignment with project standards.

• Develop and evaluate conceptual substation designs to support transmission and distribution system planning.

• Perform engineering calculations such as load analysis, grounding and shielding studies, raceway sizing, and AC/DC

• power demands.

• Coordinate with civil teams to integrate electrical and structural elements into the construction package, including

• foundations and trench layouts.

• Specify and requisition substation equipment and materials (transformers, cables, grounding systems) and support

• BOM preparation.

• Maintain and update as-built documentation, and support design approvals through consistent follow-up and

• coordination.

• Participate in technical meetings, address field RFIs/queries, and assist with resolving design and installation

• challenges.

• Support primary equipment installation and pre-commissioning by verifying alignment, specifications, and nameplate

• data.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and data analysis

• Expert-level use of AutoCAD and MicroStation for electrical design drafting

• Skilled in ETAP for power system modeling and analysis

• Proficient in PSSE and PSCAD for dynamic simulation and power system studies

• In-depth knowledge of HV substation design standards and practices specific to Saudi Arabi
