The Company:

Our client is a well-established not-for-profit community behavioral health and healthcare organization serving Southeast Ohio and the surrounding region for many years. They provide comprehensive medical and behavioral health services across multiple locations and are committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to diverse and underserved communities, including older adults, infants and children, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those affected by substance use or serious mental illness. Their integrated care model includes primary/physical medicine, behavioral health, community treatment teams, and prevention and immunization services.

The Position:

Our client is seeking a Physician (MD/DO) to join their integrated care team, delivering physical health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment to patients alongside behavioral health and case management staff. This provider will perform physical assessments, order referrals and follow-up on evaluations and lab results, and prescribe medications as clinically indicated. The physician will consult regularly with the Medical Director, Clinical Directors, nursing staff, and Community Treatment Team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a diverse patient population, including children and youth, and is skilled at collaborating with caseworkers, foster parents, nurse practitioners, and other care and service providers to support positive patient outcomes.

    Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of patients
  • Provide referrals for medical evaluations and follow up on laboratory tests and evaluation results
  • Prescribe medications as clinically indicated
  • Consult with physicians, Community Treatment Team members, and other staff regarding patient treatment on a scheduled and as-needed basis
  • Assure high-quality physical healthcare services and compliance with organizational policies, quality assurance standards, and physical medicine standards of care
  • Consult with nurses regarding the medical treatment of assigned patients
  • Maintain current knowledge of physical medicine treatment, pharmacology, and national, state, and local standards of care
  • Complete required documentation, including informed consent, in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental milestones of children and employ strategies appropriate to their developmental stage and needs
  • Work collaboratively with youth caseworkers, family members, foster parents, and other care/service providers
  • Recognize behavioral and physical indicators of child abuse and consult, respond, and report as indicated
  • Employ prevention interventions and immunizations as appropriate
  • Serve as collaborating physician for assigned Nurse Practitioners
  • Appropriately assess and manage patient pain levels
  • Provide medical/medication and health training to staff as needed
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation

    Requirements:

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Medicine (MD or DO)
  • Active and Unrestricted Ohio Medical License
  • Ability to Make Effective Oral Presentations and Maintain Accurate Records
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Laws Regarding Client Confidentiality
  • Ability to Work Independently and Exercise Sound Clinical Judgment
