Job Description
Art Teachers have the responsibility to instill an understanding and appreciation for the arts in their students.
They plan and execute art-based curriculum, while also helping students develop their own creative abilities.
Their duties and responsibilities may include:
- Developing lesson plans and instructional materials for art classes
- Teaching students about various art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and more
- Organizing and implementing an instructional program that aligns with the school’s philosophy and goals
- Instructing students on the use and care of tools and equipment used in art
- Evaluating and grading students’ work, including providing feedback to improve their skills
- Maintaining discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and productive learning environment
- Keeping records of student attendance, grades, and progress
- Organizing art exhibitions to showcase students’ work
- Attending professional development workshops and training to improve teaching practices
- Ordering and maintaining art supplies and materials
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Fine Art or Art Education
- A valid teaching license or certification
- Proven experience as an Art Teacher
- Strong portfolio showcasing your artistic abilities
- Proficiency in various types of art techniques and mediums
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students
