Cleanaway is Australia’s largest waste management company, listed on the ASX with more than 10,000 employees nationally. Every day we keep hospitals, supermarkets, construction projects and councils operating by providing essential services to millions of customers and communities nationally. We don’t just manage waste we turn it into resources, energy and long-term value for communities.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Commercial function, the Pricing Engine Lead will act as the business owner and delivery lead for a critical pricing capability project that supports dynamic, data-driven pricing decisions across Cleanaway.

This role combines project delivery, product ownership, commercial judgement and process governance. You will partner closely with Pricing, Sales, Operations, Finance, Data & Analytics and Technology to deliver the roadmap, embed the tool and establish the processes needed to operate it with confidence.

You will get across the project history, pricing logic, data inputs and future roadmap quickly, then turn that knowledge into clear priorities, strong governance and practical business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the Pricing Engine business roadmap, delivery plan, priorities, risks and dependencies.
  • Build a strong understanding of the solution delivered to date, including pricing logic, data flows, key decisions, outstanding issues and future phases.
  • Coordinate delivery across business, Data & Analytics and Technology teams, translating commercial needs into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead testing, business acceptance, implementation, go-live readiness and post-release support for new releases and enhancements.
  • Embed the Pricing Engine into Sales and business processes through clear procedures, communications, training, user support and feedback loops.
  • Own the end-to-end maintenance process for costs, margins, route and service assumptions, asset inputs and other master data used by the Pricing Engine.
  • Establish clear ownership, review frequencies, approvals, controls, documentation and audit trails for input changes.
  • Monitor pricing outputs, usage, exceptions, overrides and data quality, coordinating investigation and resolution where outcomes do not meet expectations.
  • Track adoption and benefits, while identifying opportunities to improve pricing accuracy, consistency, margin outcomes and user experience.

About You

You are a commercially minded delivery professional who can move comfortably between a project plan, a business workshop and the detail of a pricing or data issue. You bring structure to ambiguity, build trust across different teams and take genuine ownership of outcomes.

You will likely bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex business or technology-enabled projects through delivery, implementation and adoption.
  • Experience working across business, data and technology teams, with a strong grasp of project planning, governance, risks, dependencies and change.
  • The ability to learn complex systems, data flows and business processes quickly, then translate them into practical priorities and actions.
  • Experience defining business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery backlogs, ideally in a product owner or business owner capacity.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to assess the business impact of pricing, process, data and system decisions.
  • A collaborative style with the confidence to facilitate decisions, challenge assumptions and influence senior stakeholders and frontline teams.
  • Experience establishing governance, controls, ownership models and repeatable maintenance processes for business-critical tools or data.
  • Experience in pricing, commercial analytics, Salesforce, master data, decision engines, logistics or another operational service business is highly regarded.
