The Role

Clearwater Analytics partners with the world's most sophisticated institutional investors — asset managers, insurers, and institutional accounts — and this is a highly visible role on the Corporate Pricing team, created to keep pace with our growth. Protecting those relationships means staying ahead of billing concerns before they become bigger issues, not just responding after a client raises one.

As Pricing Analyst, you'll help identify and resolve client concerns about their bill — whether a client raises a service issue, disputes an invoice, or pushes back on cost, or whether you spot a pattern that's likely to become a concern before it's raised. You'll investigate what actually happened by reviewing the contract, billing history, and account records, build a clear, well-documented case, and bring a recommendation forward for approval — the quality of your research and judgment is what that decision gets built on.

What You Will Do

• Serve as the first point of contact for client requests to reduce or waive fees, whether tied to a service complaint, a billing dispute, or general dissatisfaction.
• Proactively monitor client accounts and service history to spot situations likely to turn into a concession request — a recurring service issue, an unusually large invoice change, a pattern of late payments — and flag them before the client has to raise it.
• Investigate each request or flagged situation by reviewing the client's contract, billing history, and account records to determine what actually happened and whether a concession is warranted.
• Partner with Client Success and Support teams to understand the underlying service issue behind a client's complaint or a flagged account.
• Build a clear, well-documented recommendation and bring it forward for approval.
• Maintain a case log of requests, flagged accounts, and outcomes so patterns — recurring issues, frequent requesters, common root causes — are visible over time.

Education & Requirements

• Comfortable investigating a dispute from contract and billing records and building a clear, documented case for someone else's decision.
• Strong written communication — you're building the file a pricing lead will approve or decline based on, so clarity and completeness matter.
• Even-keeled and diplomatic — this role works directly with clients who are frustrated or unhappy, and needs to keep those conversations calm and professional.
• Strong Excel/tracker discipline and comfort maintaining a running log of open and resolved cases.
• Genuine curiosity to dig into what actually happened rather than taking a client's account (or an internal team's account) at face value.
• Prior experience in billing, collections, customer support, or account management — particularly in a subscription or SaaS environment — familiarity with commercial contracts, or prior client-facing experience are all a plus but not required.

Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location. Benefits include health/vision/dental insurance, 401(k), PTO, parental leave, and medical leave, STD/LTD insurance benefits.
