
Preventive Maintenance Technician I

• Responsible for ensuring reliability and safety of machinery and equipment through preventive maintenance.
• Performs scheduled maintenance tasks and supports development of maintenance processes.
• Works closely with Preventive Maintenance Supervisor and team members to complete work in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Applies basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems to perform job duties safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
• Comply with all company, federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks and work orders as scheduled.
• Conduct daily visual inspections of machinery and report irregularities.
• Document maintenance activities, equipment performance, and work completed.
• Assist with small projects including installation and fabrication tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Operate within the work order system to execute assigned tasks.
• Understand and apply basic electrical concepts including AC/DC systems, voltage, and current.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and understand mechanical and motion control principles.
• Diagnose and install basic mechanical components such as pumps, valves, and filters.
• Support team initiatives and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.
Requirements
• Associate's degree from a technical school or at least 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and technical documents.
• Basic math skills including calculations with fractions, ratios, and percentages.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer skills including email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding environments.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends as required.
