The Preventative Maintenance Department Lead oversees the planning, scheduling, and execution of all preventative maintenance activities across production equipment and facility systems. This role manages PM technicians, maintains the CMMS system, develops and refines PM procedures, tracks key maintenance metrics, and works closely with safety, production and maintenance leadership to maximize equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.

Summary of Job Duties
- Plan, schedule, and assign preventative maintenance work orders to PM technicians.
- Supervise, train, and develop PM technicians to ensure quality and consistency of work.
- Administer and maintain the CMMS system, including asset records, PM schedules, parts inventory, and work order workflows.
- Develop, refine, and document PM procedures and checklists based on OEM recommendations, equipment history, and failure analysis.
- Track and report on key maintenance metrics including PM compliance and equipment uptime.
- Coordinate PM activities with production scheduling to minimize disruption.
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage PM parts and supplies inventory; submit purchase requisitions with supervisor approval.
- Ensure all PM activities comply with all safety standards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Collaborate with outside vendors and contractors where required.

Work Environment
This job will be performed in production, warehouse, office, and outside buildings, requiring exposure to varying weather conditions and operating in a manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled. Moderate to loud noise levels that require associates to wear hearing protection. This position may require work above or below ground level and in confined spaces. This position will routinely work on and around industrial equipment and systems including, blow molding machinery, CNC machinery, motors, motor control centers, emergency generators, water coolers, air compressors, grinders, hand tools, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, bending, stooping, grip/grasping, twisting, reaching above the head, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs. Ability to use tools and other industrial equipment. Ability to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

QualificationsRequired Skills
- Strong analytical skills with experience tracking and interpreting maintenance KPIs.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, schematics and other instructions.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience. Strong electrical knowledge preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or coordination role preferred.
- Proficiency with CMMS software for work order management, scheduling, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of PLCs, VSDs, and industrial control systems preferred.
- Experience in plastics manufacturing, blow molding, preferred.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) and experience preferred.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required to attend outside training
