Job Description

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Youth Engagement Services Clinical Coordinator, assists with bringing together local system partners i.e. schools, police, MDHHS, Purchase of Service Agencies for Foster Care and Primary Care Physicians, with the goals of: Increasing access points and mechanisms related to getting unidentified youth at risk of suicide, substance use and other disorders linked to appropriate treatment, triaging behavioral health needs and linking to appropriate referral source. Provide Prevention activities for youth, parents and community partners, including: youth skill-based groups in the community, internal and external training that may include topics such as suicide prevention (QPR), accessing services for mental health, and other youth behavioral health related topics. Participates in community fairs, events and other outreach related activities as related to youth behavioral health navigation. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/ subunit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI mission, policies and procedures. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field required. Possession of appropriate State of Michigan credential required (e.g., Prevention Specialist certificate). One year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) working with youth with a Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) required. A minimum of two years’ work experience in a field related to behavioral health (e.g., Substance Use Disorder/Mental Illness/Intellectual Developmentally Disabled) required. Must possess experience in collaboration and consultation with community groups required. Strong leadership skills and group facilitation skills required. Must be an energetic, flexible, creative, innovative individual who can develop strength-based, family-centered supportive case plans. Ability to function as part of a team is critical. Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally is required. Must have the ability to gain proficiency in CMHA-CEI computer software systems. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required. Other requirements, if needed, will depend upon area of assignment and program need.

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, undergo and pass a Central Registry Screening, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $ 51,501.35- $ 58,557.85 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $ 68,325.90. M-F 8am-5pm with some evening and possible weekend hours as programming dictates 40 hours
