This position will contribute to four initiatives: promoting HIV/STI screenings and PrEP use in the Hillsborough and Pinellas County youth aged 13 to 24, expanding PrEP use in area youth for which it is indicated, supporting Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and Community Consortium activities as they relate to HIV prevention, and overseeing educational activities related to HIV prevention and health promotion.
The position will report directly to the Project Director for the grant and will work closely with the clinic’s Outreach Coordinator.
This position will require a Level II Background Check.
This position is grant funded
HIV/HCV/Substance Use Screening Duties: 25%
Obtain certification in rapid HIV testing (500/501 training through Department of Health) if not certified
Work with the Outreach Coordinator and Testing Team to create a program for YYC Outreach screenings for youth in Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties
Interact with USF HIV Program staff to ensure continuity of care for youth newly diagnosed or reengaged in care and staff awareness of grant initiatives
Assist with data management for grant deliverables
Assist in HIV/STI testing processes at YYC per availability and clinic needs
PrEP Promotion Duties: 20%
Work with the YYC Clinical Team to increase PrEP uptake and persistence in patients as needed
Facilitate referrals for PrEP services for youth enrolling in PrEP research studies
Create protocol for providing PrEP services to unfunded patients
Work with Clinical and Outreach teams to promote PrEP education content
Community Duties – YAB, Consortium, Outreach: 20%
Create initiative for outreach activities in Pinellas County working in conjunction with community partners
Work with Outreach Team to promote YAB attendance in line with grant deliverables and provide educational content related to HIV prevention for meetings
Work with Program Director to plan Consortium content related to HIV prevention in line with grant deliverables
Assist in planning and execution of HIV prevention content at USF-sponsored Wellness Summit for Youth
Educational Duties: 25%
Work with the Outreach Team to publicize YYC services and prevention messaging to youth communities
Assist in developing social media campaigns tailored to HIV prevention
Work with Clinic Director and YAB to develop educational materials and media tools aimed at patients and area providers
Work with Education Team to coordinate efforts across outreach, clinic, AfterHours, and social media activities
Other duties as needed and appropriate: 10%
