Job Description

The HPC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project.

Pressure Compliance Team Leader

Ready to lead engineering excellence at one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects? Want to shape the future of nuclear energy and help Britain achieve net zero? At EDF, Success is Personal – and with us, your career journey is yours to shape.

The Opportunity

As the IIA Pressure Compliance Team Leader at Hinkley Point C, you’ll take a central role in one of the world’s largest power generation projects—and the first new nuclear station built in the UK in a generation. You’ll lead a specialist team within the Internal Inspection Agency, delivering independent assurance and ensuring pressure systems meet the highest standards of structural integrity, conformity assessment and safety.

This is a hybrid role based at #AztecWest, with flexibility to work from home, though you’ll be expected on site at least three days a week.

This is your opportunity to contribute directly to a project that’s helping Britain achieve net zero. You’ll shape surveillance plans, oversee conformity assessment across design, fabrication and installation, and work closely with designers, contract partners and wider HPC teams to ensure compliance with UK Pressure Regulations and the HPC Safety Case. Your technical insight and organisational skill will help keep the project on track—delivering quality, maintaining schedule and controlling cost.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Pressure Compliance Team Leader who’s technically strong, collaborative and delivery‑focused.

Do you offer…

Expertise in structural integrity and pressure‑systems compliance, including equipment designed to RCC‑M or ASME codes.
Hands‑on experience with pressure‑equipment manufacture, installation, conformity assessment and working with regulators and supply chain partners.
The ability to influence stakeholders across a matrix organisation and work effectively in multi‑cultural project environments.
Clear, confident communication skills and the judgement to recognise technical limits and involve specialists when needed.
A degree in Engineering or Science, with experience in large, highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, power generation or oil & gas.
Chartered status (or working towards it), plus knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and the nuclear industry as an advantage.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading the IIA pressure‑compliance function for your scope, ensuring pressure equipment and systems meet all applicable conformity requirements.
Managing and developing a team of Pressure Compliance Leads, Surveyors and SMEs, assigning responsibilities and overseeing delivery,
Preparing and steering surveillance plans, reviewing design, fabrication and installation documentation, and driving resolution of open points.
Reporting progress through KPIs, supporting governance processes and contributing to hold‑point lifts for pressure systems.
Working directly with Contract Partners and HPC teams to plan upcoming work, resolve issues and maintain clear stakeholder communication.
Promoting a learning culture by capturing lessons learned and recommending improvements for future activities.

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a salary from £82,000, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that’s unique to you. Here, Success is Personal – it’s your journey, powered by us.
