Job Description

Winpak Heat Seal is looking to add a Press Utility position on their team based out of Pekin, Illinois

In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment by supporting various production departments. You will help uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice compliance while contributing to our mission of providing innovative packaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Movex system to determine material stock levels and location.
  • Review and interpret job specification sheets to support production requirements.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of printing press operation and workflows.
  • Navigate stock warehouse layout and product code system to identify and locate materials.
  • Ensure required materials are staged and available at the press prior to and during production.
  • Open, unload, and properly dispose of incoming stock packaging materials.
  • Clean press units, ink pumps, and other press components as needed.
  • Operate and maintain solvent soak tank; including draining, cleaning, and refilling.
  • Install press components including plate cylinders or print sleeves, anilox rolls, and doctor blades.
  • Replace empty ink and solvent barrels as required during production.
  • Clean anilox rolls using ultrasonic cleaning equipment.
  • Move finished skids of printed materials to designated warehouse locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with printing press components.
  • 1+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience following safety protocols, and cleaning procedures in industrial environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (equivalent to 22.6 kilograms), stand and walk for extended periods, and cleaning equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with maintenance of sanitation equipment
  • Knowledge of safety equipment operation such as eyewash stations and emergency showers.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on cleaning or maintenance duties.
