Job Description

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for a variety of duties in the set-up and operation of sheet metal fabrication equipment as defined in the work instructions for each job. To ensure that techniques are followed and maintain acceptable levels of quality and productivity within established parameters while working in a safe and effective manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs forming operations on a large variety of parts at times with high levels of complexity, ensuring the operation is performed within established parameters, minimal scrap, and acceptable levels of output
  • Plan forming techniques using proper tools, and produces parts within established finish specifications, specifications at acceptable levels of production, which includes the reading and interpretation of process drawing, routings, and travelers
  • Use a full range of forming equipment and hand tools in support of daily output on specific materials ensuring that 100% of parts produced meet or exceed expectations
  • Trace any problem source(s) and ensuring proper corrective action(s) are taken to resolve detected problems
  • Reads and interprets a variety forming specifications and engineering drawings
  • Ensures that proper housekeeping is maintained including sweeping and clean up in and round her/his area of responsibility
  • Performs continuous improvement (lean) activities as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment including identification of unsafe conditions
  • Complete all job related documentation and shop floor data collection accurately
  • Adhere to all aspects of the Quality Management System
  • Performs other duties and assignments as needed
  • Participate on available training for his/herself and willing to train others
  • Must be a team player as measured by his/her peers

Requirements

REQUIRED

  • Must be over 18 years of age and authorized to work in US
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Solid understanding and ability to use forming Machines and precision measuring tools
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand technical documentation, computer literate, read process drawing (blueprints)
  • Physically able to perform routine and heavy tasks with full range of motion
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.

DESIRED

  • 1-3 years Press Brake experience in a precision manufacturing environment preferred
  • Someone who proactively addresses concerns and potential issues prior to them negatively impacting business
  • Someone who is personally committed to owning the outcome of identified results with a proven record of success and ownership when achieving goals
