Job Description

As the President & General Manager of our local television station and digital media platforms in Louisville, KY (WLKY-TV), you'll lead the charge in advancing the mission of broadcasting excellence. The ideal candidate will harness exceptional strategic vision, drive revenue growth, and embody a deep understanding of the overarching possibilities of the broadcast industry. WLKY-TV, an esteemed CBS affiliate, is committed to delivering top-quality news and robust community involvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead station success, driving accountability for news, programming, sales, marketing, and technology across all platforms.
  • Innovate short- and long-term strategies for revenue and audience engagement expansion.
  • Architect plans for revenue enhancement, tapping into core and emerging media opportunities.
  • Manage budgets with precision to ensure accurate forecasting and sustainable growth.
  • Cultivate community engagement to strengthen ties with advertisers, viewers, partners, and community leaders.
  • Develop team skills in a collaborative, innovative, and excellence-driven environment.
  • Uphold FCC regulations and industry standards while fortifying relationships with government and affiliate contacts.
  • In person attendance is required.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of leadership experience within multimedia organizations or related fields.
  • Proven capability in nurturing high-performing, diverse teams and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Demonstrated track record in strategic leadership, innovation, and attainment of organizational goals.
  • Astute critical thinking and data-informed decision-making skills.
  • Robust strategic, operational, and financial expertise.
  • Exemplary judgment, community engagement, and ethical standards.
  • Skilled planning and prioritization to achieve financial and strategic objectives.
  • Effective communicator and inclusive leader who unites diverse perspectives for a shared vision.
